Dynamic Compaction is a cost-effective method of soil compaction that utilizes the repeated dropping of large (6-35 ton) steel weights, from a predetermined height (40-80 feet), on a predetermined grid pattern.

This repeated application of high energy impacts on the same inpact point causes densification or compaction of the soil mass to depths ranging from 10 to 25 feet.

Energy is typically applied in several passes, with the initial pass on a 10 to 20 foot grid, followed by either additional passes or a tight grid at footing locations.
